There is so much beauty around us. It is impossible to miss it all. The earth is filled with many wonders like the long stretch of our dynamic sky embedded with the warmth of our sun sitting more than 90 million miles away. We are provided with strength for life thanks to the earth’s nourishment and the victuals from our bountiful lands and seas. These are the formidable and free gifts of life that we have become comfortable with and lost astonishment in as human interaction overshadows their presence.
Even more overlooked in our daily routines is another great force known as Self. It is our nature to be interactive and observant. These functions are so important to us that we’ve adopted new and easier ways to communicate with and perceive each other indirectly. We are so fascinated with his or her power and less enthralled with the force within ourselves. It’s hard not to be this way; society is shaped around this behavior. But what if there was a greater benefit in knowing and understanding self? What would happen if we learned to balance our interaction with others and ourselves? Self is just as abundant as nature. Within self lies valuable answers and great wealth. Self is a never ending treasure trove. It is what all the great poets are referring to when they speak about love. It is hard to fathom that such abundance and greatness is contained within us. This must be the reason for all the distractions. This could be why networks and radio waves contend for your time and attention. If your silence was directed toward yourself instead of the million dollar picture stories and melodies more often, could you be powerful enough to change the things around you that steal your peace? Just in case this is true, dedicate 10 minutes to an hour a day of your time to silencing your mind and stilling your body. Make this a part of your new routine for a few moments after you wake up, after you eat a meal, during a lunch break, while you’re on the bus or train, or while you’re at an event. No one has to know that you are meditating, simply relax and free your mind. This is the beginning. Enjoy your journey and be well.

I absolutely love this. I am someone who cannot go a day without having time to myself to shut out all of noise. When we shut out the noise we are able to receive clear direction about our next steps and we are able to find some inner peace. Thank you for sharing this. Quiet time, is key.
